Sokoto State Governor, Alhaji Aminu Tambuwal, Saturday inaugurated the sale of fertiliser worth N 1.7 billion for the 2017 farming season, with a call on officials not to distribute them to fake farmers.

According to him, the 300,000 bags of fertiliser would be sold at a subsidised rate of N1,500 per bag so as to encourage more people to engage in farming.
Tambuwal also inaugurated the distribution of free rice and millet seeds, tilling and water pumping machines to the farmers.
The governor warned officials in charge of the distribution of the items to shun politics in their activities, and admonished them to fear God and distribute the items only to genuine farmers.
