The level of decay of most infrastructures at the Government Technical College, Eyagi Bida has aroused the concern of old students of the institution.

It is said that most toilets in the school are not functioning while the taps have stopped running in addition to the existence of workshops without equipment.

The Public Relations Officer of the old boys association, Othman Dada said in a statement that members of the association will meet on March 4 to seek solution to the problems. He said the meeting would also resolve to send a delegation to the state government to intervene in the problems facing one of the oldest technical colleges in the state.

He said the meeting would hold on the college premises to “afford members the opportunity to see the state of dilapidation of infrastructures in the school over the years owing to neglect.

“We will see for ourselves that most hostels do not have toilet facilities or running tap water a common feature in the past, thus causing untold hardship to student’s.

“Members will take the opportunity to see empty workshops that are also devoid of any working equipment or tools for the students to conduct practicals in line with the laid down curriculum.”

At the meeting Dada said a special award will be conferred on selected persons, adding that a lecture titled ‘Eyagi Yesterday, Today and the Prospect of Tomorrow’ would be delivered by a former student, Alhaji Hussaini Ndayako, Sarduana Raba Nupe.
