Following the Appeal Court Judgment nullifying the Federal High Court judgment that authorised the issuance of Certificate of Return to Dr. Uche Ogah, the chairman of Uturu Development Association (UDA), Lagos Branch, Mr. Kenneth Nwaro has called for calm and more prayers.

According to him, there is still hope of overturning the judgment of the appeal court at apex court, because God will always come to rescue Abians from the present situation, which is suffocating.

He admonished everybody to remain law abiding and go about their normal business.

The entire people of Uturu in Isiukwuato Local Government of Abia State resident in Lagos, under aegis of Uturu Development Association(UDA), Lagos Branch had held a fasting and praying session at the Command Secondary School, Maryland Lagos asking for God Guidance and protection over their beloved son, brother and member, Dr. Uche Ogah, whom the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had issued a Certificate of Return as the Governor of Abia State.

According to a statement issued after the fasting and prayer session, jointly signed by the chairman Mr. Kenneth Nwaro and the Secretary, Mr. Kelechi Nweke, the Association stated that since the nullification of Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu‘s election as the Governor of Abia state by Hon. Okon Abang of Federal High Court, Abuja on June 27, 2016, some Abians, particularly those from Ikpeazu’s camp have been making provocative and inciting statements against the said judgment and their son too.

The association, however, in the statement appealed to its members and Abians to be law abiding as they go about their normal day to day activities, saying that the body has implicit confidence in the Nigerian Judiciary system.

The statement also stated that despite the threat and blackmail from some quarters against their son in the quest to secure his mandate, which will liberate Abians, God will not allow evil to triumph over the just in the state.

According to the statement, Abians are law abiding people and subjected to the rule of law, believing that at the end of the day ,Dr Uche Ogah will be sworn in as the governor of Abia, which will mark the beginning of transformation, economic and infrastructural development in the state.

The statement further stated that the coming of Uche Ogah into power will signal total liberation of Abia state from the clutches of godfatherism, infrastructural decay and economic quagmire.

The association added that once Dr. Ogah is sworn in as governor of Abia state, Abians will begin to experience infrastructural transformation, economic development and prosperity that has never been seen since the creation of Abia state on 27th day of August 1991.

Nwaro, disclosed that the community resorted to prayers and fasting because there is nothing God cannot do, especially this time in the life of Abia state ,where some individual have hijack the state for selfish interest.

He said the praying and fasting become necessary given the threat by Ikpeazu’s camp to Dr. Ogah and hoping that God will intervene to right the wrong in the state by restoring Ogah mandate.

He said the utmost reason those who are against Ogah becoming governor was to manipulate the system to favour their selfish interest ,stressing that that the righteous people are praying for God intervention to save the state.
