NUATE Passes Vote of Confidence on NAHCO

National Union of Air Transport Employees (NUATE) has passed a vote of confidence on the current board and management of Nigerian Aviation Handling Company Plc (NAHCO) led by its chairman, Malam Suleiman Yahyah. NUATE delivered their message of solidarity signed by its National President, Comrade D.M. Safiyanu to NAHCO, at its recent annual general meeting (AGM) in Abuja.

The union noted that NAHCO is an “outfit with its extreme importance that serves as an integral part of the overall success of the industry that provides essential services to the airlines, which enables such airline enhance its on-time performance and turnaround time.” Acknowledging the significant investment the board and management has made in human capital development, NUATE urged them to “invest more in training and retraining and encourage your employees and the management to key into the vision and mission of those airlines that you service more so to enhance its safety culture.”

While noting that “as a trade union, we are not so much given to always relate with company board”, NUATE however, stated that, “we hasten to recall that some timely fatherly interventions of the NAHCO Board especially its Chairman (Alhaji Suleiman Yahyah) both officially and personally in several thorny industrial issues between NAHCO management and the unions has recorded more successes on both sides for the benefits of all.”
