Following an attack that led to the killing of 15 persons and injuring several others at Imushin near Ogijo, Ogun State, the police authority has been urged to take proactive actions to apprehend the perpetrators.

Making the call yesterday on behalf of pan-Yoruba socio-political group, Afenifere, the National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Yinka Odumakin, who traced the attack to suspected pipeline vandals avenging the killing of two of their members, said the police needed to play its role of securing the people so that people will not have to protect themselves.

“We are at a loss as to how an act of the Nigerian police should be an object of attack against defenseless Yoruba people in their community if there were no other motive by the attackers.

“We call on the security agencies fish out the Perpetrators of this gruesome act immediately.

We also send condolences to the families of the victims just as we pray that God Almighty will grant them the fortitude to bear this calamitous loss.

While waiting for the apprehension of these criminals,we must warn some of our hostile neighbours not to take Yoruba good nature for granted.

“While we have never been know to be aggressors in the history of Nigeria,we have never lacked the capacity to ward off aggressors,” he said.
