Boko Haram: GOC in Gamboru Ngala, Commends Troops’ Clearance Operations

The General Officer Commanding (GOC), 7 Division, Nigerian Army, Brig-Gen. Victor Ezugwu has commended the performance of the troops in the ongoing clearance operations against remnants of Boko Haram terrorists in the North-East.

Ezugwu stated this on Wednesday during his address at Rann, Headquarters of Kala Balge Local Government Area (LGA), and as well as to the troops of 3 Battalion, Gamboru Ngala, noting his “happiness with the recent performance, in clearing Boko Haram Terrorists”.

The GOC, according to the statement signed on Friday by the Deputy Director, Army Public Relations Col. Mustapha Anka, was earlier welcomed by the Commanding Officer of 3 Battalion Lt-Col. Igwe Omoke who briefed the GOC of their arrival to the mission area and achievements within the few days they were inducted into Operation Lafiya Dole, which include the capture of Kala Balga and its environs.

He commended the braveness and gallantry of the officers and soldiers, and assured them of the Division’s adequate logistics and operational support. He also toured the company locations and interacted with the members of the civilian JTF.

Earlier, Ezugwu stopped at the Headquarters of 22 Brigade Dikwa where he was received by the Commander, Brig-Gen. Benjamin Sawyer. The GOC also inspected the Quarter Guard and was given a detailed brief on the arrival of the formation into the Theatre of Operation Lafiya Dole and its achievements, since arrival in the mission area, within the period of 9 days.
