An illegal detention premises was yesterday uncovered by agents of the Oyo State Government in Ladigbolu, Ashipade Atiba in Atiba Local Government Area of Oyo State.

A wing of the home first detected in Ibadan had led to the uncovering of the enlarged premises in Ladigbolu, Ashipade Atiba in Atiba Local Government Area, close to Oyo town in Oyo State.
Police detectives were said to have been drafted in immediately to commence investigation into the incident.

Reports from the area as at press time revealed police investigation to have traced the ownership of the house to a Chief Priest, one Ifakunle Orisagbemi Oluokun, who is said to work as a spiritual backbone for many politicians and others involved in all sorts of ritual activities.

“He performs spiritual cleansing for politicians and empower them spiritually in many ways, he is seen in the area in the open, walking with them in the street, they, including people in government have so much confidence in his prowers and consults him on all issues for counseling and empowerment before they go into any activity or programme. He is something of an untouchable today with many people of authority, including top state security officials, judges, lawmakers and public officers coming around him”, a member of the Ladigbolu community confided in our reporter around the illegal custody yesterday.

The middle aged man, who craved anonymity, described Ifakunle Orisagbemi Oluokun as highly cruel and unforgiving, advising the police to take their investigation beyond the use of the place as an illegal detection camp.
In his words: There has been claims of suspicious ritual killings in the place, the police will unveil it all and get more into it if detailed investigation is conducted into reasons for these illegal detentions going on there.

The number of men and women and even children found to have been held hostage there when the police bursted it was simply horrendous, they need to do more to find out what it was all about.”

Contacted yesterday for confirmation, the State Deputy Commissioner of Police(DCP), Mr. Clement Adoda, who led the police team that raided the illegal detention home, said the police have commenced full investigation into the incident and will not leave anything untouched.

He said preliminary investigation has revealed that the Ibadan annex of the home was being used as a holding bay for people who fell into their dragnets in the area, pending when they were moved to the main home in Ladigbolu, Ashipade Atiba.
