Terem Moffi Completes Hamburg Switch

Super Eagles forward, Terem Moffi, has joined Hamburg from Nice on a permanent transfer for 2.5 million euros, which includes 500,000 euros in bonuses.

Moffi’s arrival was confirmed by HSV earlier on Monday.

The 27-year-old centre-forward joined from OGC Nice after spending the second half of last season on loan at FC Porto.

He signed a three-year contract with Hamburg.

Before signing the contract, Moffi completed routine medical examinations at the Athleticum of Volkspark at the weekend.

He will wear the number 9 shirt at Hamburg.

According to Claus Costa, HSV’s Director of Professional Football, Moffi is a striker who is difficult to control due to his physicality, determination, and style of play, and is expected to add power and versatility to the team’s squad.

The transfer gives Moffi a fresh start in Germany and gives Hamburg an experienced striker for another Bundesliga challenge. HSV sporting board member Kathleen Krüger said the Nigerian’s physical strength and international experience would give the team more options in attack.

Moffi is expected to join his new team-mates in training this week.

His first competitive chance could come on Saturday, when Hamburg travel to face Borussia Dortmund in their German Bundesliga opener.
