Spending Cryptocurrency Gains Momentum in Nigeria, Says Paragon Digitech
Paragon Digitech Solutions Ltd says it is expanding access to cryptocurrency for everyday transactions in Nigeria through its flagship product, the Paragon Crypto App.
The company said the platform was developed to address common challenges that have limited wider cryptocurrency adoption, including complex transaction processes, limited payment options and user interfaces that are not tailored to the Nigerian market.
Speaking on the initiative, the company’s spokesperson, Obiora Chibueze Paul, said the app is designed to make cryptocurrency more accessible by focusing on simplicity, security and convenience.
“We are making Bitcoin purchase easier for Nigerians,” Paul said. “Our goal is to provide a seamless experience for both first-time and experienced users, allowing cryptocurrency to serve practical everyday purposes beyond investment.”
According to the company, the Paragon Crypto App enables users to buy, sell and store digital assets using local payment methods. It also incorporates security features aimed at protecting users’ funds and personal information while offering a straightforward interface for transactions.
Paragon Digitech said its product development has been informed by more than six years of experience in Nigeria’s cryptocurrency market.
“The humans behind Paragon have been exchanging for over six years now and we have seen user frustrations and pain points. We are solving these one step at a time,” the company stated.
Among the platform’s features is a pricing system that allows users to propose exchange rates they consider favourable, rather than relying solely on fixed rates.
“We are making trading customer-centred,” the company added.
Beyond cryptocurrency trading, the app also provides services such as bill payments, betting and virtual cards, which the company said are intended to give users more opportunities to use digital assets for everyday transactions.
Paragon Digitech said additional features are being developed as part of plans to expand the platform’s functionality and encourage broader cryptocurrency adoption.
The company said it remains focused on improving the user experience while promoting the practical use of Bitcoin and other digital assets for payments, value storage and other financial activities.
