Meet Nigerian London-based Music Director, Multi‑instrumentalist, Israel Ogadie
Adedayo Akinwale in Abuja
Born and raised in Nigeria and now based in London, multi‑instrumentalist, band leader and music director Israel Ogadie brings over two decades of dedication and skill to the international music space.
He began playing congas at age 13, going on to master lead guitar, bass, and keyboards — and holds a degree in Economics from the University of Abuja.
He is a member of both the Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria (PMAN) and the Musicians’ Union (MU) UK, establishing him as a recognised professional across two territories.
His debut single “One True Odogwu” marked his official transition as a recording artist.
Inspired by the resilience of his late mother and biblical themes of persistence, it has earned more than 300,000 combined YouTube views across five related videos, with global distribution through Symphonic Music.
He followed this quickly with “Siyabonga Baba”, which gained over 600,000 views in just a few days.
Both releases are supported by targeted promotion — including Google Ads campaigns — reflecting his ongoing investment in reaching audiences worldwide.
Ogadie’s career balances stage leadership, production and mentorship.
In Nigeria, he served as guitarist, bassist and music team leader/technical director at Guiding Light Assembly, Abuja Worship Centre, was resident guitarist with Auster Sound Band at Transcorp Hilton Hotel Abuja, and led The Sweet Band at Blake’s Excellent Resource.
He also appeared as a guest on ITV Nigeria’s programme “Youth Can”, speaking about artistry and responsible practice.
Since moving to the UK, he has continued to expand his influence: performing at high‑profile events including the 50th birthday celebration of Mrs. Ida Emmanuella in London; serving voluntarily as Assistant Music Director at New Testament Gospel Church; and working as keyboardist and Assistant Music Director at Kingdom Culture Ministry International.
A committed mentor, he has trained many young instrumentalists and live performers over the years.
