Avant-Garde’s Kayode Olaniyan Joins Industry Leaders at Africa’sEthical Compliance Future Conference

Kayode Olaniyan, Principal Consultant at Avant-Garde Innovations and Technology Services, joined an elite panel of compliance and governance professionals at Africa’s Ethical Compliance Future — Culture, Conduct & Global Standards, held on 21 May 2026 at the Idera
Hall, Radisson Blu, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The flagship conference, convened by CCC Consultancy Group and Graypatch Advisory Limited, brought together regulators, corporate leaders, compliance professionals, and investors from across sectors to examine how African organisations can build strong ethical
cultures and globally trusted governance frameworks.

Olaniyan was one of three panelists featured in the second panel discussion; Ethics, Culture and Conduct — From Aspiration to Accountability, moderated by Toyosi Egunjobi, alongside Soji Apampa and Ayokunle Ayoko.

The session challenged participants to move beyond rhetoric and translate ethical commitments into auditable action.
Speaking on Nigeria’s sustainable development deficit, Olaniyan drew a distinction between resource gaps and leadership failures, noting that the real driver of organisational culture lies at the top. “Every single organisation or institution is a heightened shadow of the leader of
that business, ” he said.

“How the leader perceives sustainability, governance, and ethics is what trickles down to every member of the organisation.

On the circular economy, Olaniyan highlighted how practical models, from telecoms collocation to urban mining and battery recycling, are already reshaping how businesses think about resource sharing, arguing that the shift is not a distant aspiration but a present
reality. He called on organisations to lead by example rather than wait for regulatory
mandates.

When asked what one tangible commitment he would make in the next 90 days, Olaniyan was direct: “Mine will be to not treat compliance and ethics as a box-ticking exercise, being intentional about it, and speaking up. When you see something, say something.

The conference also featured keynote addresses, a flagship IHS Towers case study on its NYSElisting journey, and sessions on AI ethics, women in GRC, and the intersection of ESG, digital trust and market integrity.
