Peak District Housing (Midlands), a leading provider of affordable and social housing across the East Midlands, has announced the appointment of Nonye Ndukwe-Onuoha as a new Non-Executive Board Member.

Nonye brings extensive expertise in procurement, strategic sourcing, and global brand management to the role. She currently serves as Procurement Partner at Derby Homes, the arm’s-length social housing and real estate organisation of Derby City Council, where she plays a key role in delivering value-driven procurement strategies that support the provision of quality, affordable housing.
“I am truly honoured to join the Board of Peak District Housing (Midlands),” said Nonye. “Affordable and sustainable housing is fundamental to building strong communities. I look forward to contributing my skills in procurement excellence and strategic leadership to help drive socio-economic impact and ensure high-quality homes are available to those who need them most.”

Prior to her current position at Derby Homes, Nonye held senior roles at Diageo Headquarters in London, where she served as Procurement Category Lead and Global Communications Manager. In this capacity, she managed the global Advertising & Promotion (A&P) spend for some of the company’s flagship brands, including Guinness, Smirnoff, Baileys, Gordons, and Captain Morgan. Her work helped optimise multi-million-pound budgets while maintaining brand integrity across international markets.

She holds an MBA from the prestigious University Institute of Lisbon (ISCTE-IUL) and is a certified procurement professional and member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) in the UK.

Peak District Housing (Midlands) welcomed the appointment, noting Nonye’s unique blend of commercial acumen and passion for social value.
“Nonye’s impressive track record in high-level procurement and her deep commitment to sustainable housing make her an excellent addition to our Board,” said a spokesperson for Peak District Housing. “Her strategic insight will be invaluable as we continue to expand and improve housing provision across the Midlands while championing affordability and community impact.”

The appointment reflects Peak District Housing’s ongoing commitment to strengthening its governance with professionals who combine private-sector excellence with a public-service ethos.

Nonye is expected to take up her position with immediate effect and will contribute to board oversight on procurement, sustainability, and strategic development initiatives.
