Storytellers have a unique opportunity to chase their dream with the “Mega Story Hunt.” Sparking a new wave of literary wanderlust across digital platforms, the Mega Story Hunt invites storytellers to compete for a chance to turn their narratives into a reality. The latest installment, themed “An Escape to Paris,” has seen an explosion of entries from writers eager to blend personal vulnerability with the allure of the City of Light.
The Mega Story Hunt is essentially a storytelling competition inviting people to share captivating stories from their travel experiences whether local or international. Participants are encouraged to tell a memorable story from a trip they’ve taken: funny, emotional, life changing, unexpected or deeply personal while featuring a photo of the book in their submission. Entries can be shared as written posts or videos across social media using the hashtags #AETPMegaStoryHunt and #AnEscapetoParisBook.
To qualify, participants must follow Lawretta Egba across all social media platforms, as well as the Instagram page @anescapetoparis.
Prizes include an all expense paid trip to Paris or N3 million for the grand prize winner, a three-day luxury getaway or N750,000 for the first runner-up and a premium dinner experience in Lagos or N250000 for the third-place winner. Exceptional entries may also be featured in a future compilation project.
More than a competition, The Mega Story Hunt is a celebration of storytelling, adventure, human connection and the unforgettable moments that travel can create. It is rooted in the belief that even the most ordinary journeys can become extraordinary stories when told with honesty and heart. The competition, which has gained significant traction on platforms like Medium and social media, challenges participants to go beyond simple travelogues. Instead, the “Hunt” requires a “mega” effort: deep, evocative storytelling that explores themes of transformation, unplanned moments, and the human desire for freedom.
Winners will be selected by an esteemed panel of internationally acclaimed literary judges led by Taiwo Michael Oloyede, a renowned award winning multidisciplinary artiste.
Entries close on May 30 and winners will be selected based on creativity, originality, authenticity and emotional impact. Winners often find their work featured across wider networks, providing a professional springboard for those looking to transition into full-time travel creation or professional authorship.
