CIO, C-Suite Awards Expand 

Recognition across 15 Countries

The organisers of the CIO & C-Suite has announced the  seventh edition of the  Awards  as the platform broadens its recognition of technology and executive leadership across 15 African countries.The awards initiative which launched at the height of COVID-19 crisis seeks to spotlight technology executives and senior business leaders who sustained organisations and economies during a period of global disruption.

So far, the initiative has evolved into a continental platform recognising leadership across sectors including fintech, e-commerce, healthtech and agritech, amongst others. 

Convener of the awards, Abiola Laseinde said the growth of the initiative reflects the increasing depth of leadership within Africa’s technology ecosystem.

“Reaching a seventh edition is not just a milestone for the Awards; it is a reflection of the extraordinary depth and consistency of African technology leadership. Each year reinforces the belief that the continent’s best is yet to come,” she said.

Over the years, the awards have recognised executives across banking, telecommunications and digital infrastructure, including Group CIO of MTN, Shoyinka Shodunke; CIO of the Egyptian Banking Institute, Mohamed Besheer; CEO of Open Access Data Center, Ayotunde Coker and Chairman of Chams Holdco Plc,  Ademola Aladekomo, amongst others. 

Laseinde added that the awards, whose nominations opened on May 1 and close on June 30 via the organisers’ digital platform, go beyond rewarding achievement to strengthening recognition for African leadership in the technology sector.
