KKF Hails Pharma West Africa 2026 Committee Chair, Advocates Strategic Partnerships to Strengthen Nigeria’s Health Sector
The Kirti’s Kare Foundation (KKF) has commended Ahmed Yakasai, Chairman of the Programme Committee for Pharma West Africa Conference 2026, for his leadership in advancing Nigeria’s pharmaceutical and healthcare ecosystem.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, Dr. Kirti Sudhanshu praised Yakasai’s commitment to fostering innovation, collaboration, and sustainable industry growth through the Pharma West Africa platform—now widely regarded as one of the region’s most influential convenings of healthcare stakeholders.
KKF noted that the conference continues to serve as a critical interface for policymakers, manufacturers, healthcare professionals, and investors, collectively working to improve access to quality medicines and strengthen the pharmaceutical value chain across Nigeria and the broader West African region.
While applauding the Programme Committee’s efforts, the Foundation emphasised the importance of deepening public–private collaboration as a pathway to long-term sectoral transformation. KKF highlighted that sustainable progress in Nigeria’s healthcare system will require coordinated engagement among government institutions, development partners, and private sector investors.
Addressing structural challenges within the sector, KKF underscored the need for strategic action to tackle limited local drug manufacturing, supply chain inefficiencies, and disparities in access to essential medicines. The Foundation advocated for increased investment in innovation, technology transfer, and capacity development to build a more resilient and self-sufficient healthcare system.
Adding a broader perspective, KKF stated that when like-minded leadership aligns with a clear purpose, transformative change begins at the grassroots economic level. The Foundation expressed confidence that the synergy and shared vision between Ahmed Yakasai and Dr. Kirti Sudhanshu will naturally attract organisations and stakeholders operating on a similar wavelength, thereby accelerating meaningful improvements within the pharmaceutical industry.
Commenting on international cooperation, Dr. Kirti noted that the longstanding pharmaceutical relationship between India and Nigeria provides a strong foundation for expanded collaboration. She emphasised that the time is right to translate this relationship into practical, hand-in-hand partnerships that deliver measurable impact across the healthcare value chain, positioning Nigeria as a strategic hub for pharmaceutical growth in West Africa.
KKF further expressed its readiness to engage with stakeholders within the Pharma West Africa network to support initiatives aimed at enhancing healthcare delivery, promoting local manufacturing, and strengthening institutional and human capacity across the sector.
The Foundation reiterated that advancing Nigeria’s healthcare system is not only a national priority but also a critical driver of improved quality of life for millions of citizens.
