Inside ajofé’s Ikoyi House Party and the Creative Forces Behind It
An exclusive residence in Ikoyi, Lagos, recently played host to a private gathering convened by AfroGroove artiste, ajofé, drawing a cross-section of Nigeria’s entertainment industry and creative community.
Beyond the guest list, attention has turned to the team responsible for shaping the evening. The event’s visual direction was handled by design duo Yemi and Jimmy Animashaun, known as FunkyPlutoDynasty, whose past works include projects with Ycee and Seyi Vibes. Event management was led by Asmau Ibrahim, recognised for her work on productions associated with Trace TV, while Bright Star Creative Media documented the event.
On the fashion front, ajofé was styled by Simeon Black, whose clientele includes Olamide, Davido, Tekno and Mr Eazi. Also present was Pancho, stylist to Don Jazzy, alongside makeup artists and photographers who contributed to the visual outlook of the evening.
Entertainment for the night was anchored by Big Brother Naija Season 10 housemate, Jason Jae, who led interactive sessions built around ajofé’s music, including unreleased tracks. A resident DJ, Muski, provided music throughout the event.
Among attendees was TikTok influencer, Purple Speedy, alongside other digital creators, artistes, A&Rs, on-air personalities and television crews from platforms such as TVC, Soundcity and WAP TV.
A notable feature of the gathering was a segment referred to as the “Anti-Farmer Room,” supported by Urgent2K. Guests participated in a barcode-based activity where cash prizes were revealed, with some attendees subsequently creating content linked to the artiste’s music.
The event also had the presence of film producers and emerging artistes, reflecting a blend of established and upcoming voices within the industry.
While largely a private gathering, the Ikoyi event highlights a growing approach within the entertainment space, where curated experiences are used to bring together stakeholders across music, media and digital content creation in a single setting.
