Mr. Maxwell Oba-Joshua has emerged the grand winner of the TechOff’s 2025 competition for identifying emerging tech talents.

TechOff is a Nigerian platform for discovering, amplifying, and empowering hidden and emerging tech talent.

The event brought together young innovators, industry leaders, mentors, and partners to spotlight practical and technology-driven solutions to real-world challenges.

Oba-Joshua emerged as the overall winner with his “Message Queue,” an innovation designed to help organisations and individuals better prioritise, organise, and manage information and tasks more efficiently.

The solution seeks to reduce the chaos and inefficiency that often come with information overload by helping users focus on what matters most.

Oba-Joshua expressed excitement and gratitude to TechOff for providing him with the platform to bring his idea to life.

He said: “I am full of joy to emerge as the overall winner. More importantly, I am grateful to TechOff for discovering, sharpening my creativity and empowering me to build an innovation like Message Queue to add value to humanity.”

The second runner up was Happiness Obochi Adah. Adah came second with CortexDB, an AI-powered solution designed to help users interact, organise, and retrieve information from databases more easily and intelligently.

By simplifying how people access and make sense of data, the innovation seeks to improve productivity and decision-making, particularly for individuals and organisations without advanced technical expertise.

The third place went to Ms. Enuma, whose “Sorted Table,” a database solution designed to make data storage, organisation, and retrieval simpler and more accessible.

The platform helps students, small businesses, and organisations to manage information more efficiently through intuitive and user-friendly approach.

Speaking at the event, TechOff Founder, Sosanya Olumide Dickson, reiterated that the TechOff’s mission is to transform hidden tech talent into visible innovators.

Dickson said: “TechOff exists to ensure that talented builders are not limited by geography, visibility, or access.

“Too often, brilliant innovators remain unseen simply because they are not in the right city, network, or room.

“We are building a platform that changes the game by providing emerging tech talents with the visibility, mentorship, and opportunities they need to thrive.”
Since its inception, TechOff has engaged over 800 participants and tech enthusiasts, mobilised more than 20 industry experts, and partnered with about seven organisations.

TechOff has also distributed more than ₦2 million in prizes and support for talents with the most exceptional creativity.
