Akinnayajo Babatunde , Unique Motion Media and SekiApp Set to Release Fury

Award-winning filmmaker Akinnayajo Babatunde ( Mr Tunez )and partners are preparing to unveil Fury, a powerful drama that explores the struggles of an average African woman after childbirth and its ripple effects on the family and society.

Babatunde popularly known as Mr Tunez , has produced notable films including Midnight (2019) and blockbuster Arinfesesi ( A day of misfortune) distributed by FilmOne Ent’ , serves as executive producer and producer under his company Unique Motion Media Konsult, describes the film as a mirror to real-life challenges many African homes face. “Fury is a masterpiece that mirrors the struggles of an average African woman after childbirth,” he said. “It is a story carefully written to expose the positive and negative effects of the challenges of childbirth; what it poses to the home and our society at large.”

The story is created by Babatunde and written by multiple award-winning screenwriter, Stephen Oluboyo. The film features a strong ensemble cast led by Florence Uwaleke Okechukwu (nominated for Best Actress) and Efa Iwara in the lead roles, with support from Yvonne Jegede, Oyindamola Sanni, veteran actors Jide Kosoko and Idowu Phillips (Mama Rainbow), and popular television stars Lanre Adediwura and Debbie Shokoya.

“Fury is a film that features Nigerian talented actors and actresses who embody their characters to bring the story to life,” Babatunde noted.
The project is co-executive produced by Oyindamola Sanni, with additional production credit going to Opeoluwa Adetunji (Mr Oseyi). SekiApp played a prominent role both as a major brand partner and within the storyline itself.
Fury has already gained early recognition, earning three nominations at the 2025 BON Awards hosted by the Lagos State Government — Best Actress, Best Social Message, and Best Sound.

Babatunde ( Mr Tunez ) expressed optimism about the film’s future. “This has set this film on a fast lane to achieving more nominations and selections from film festivals across the world,” he said.
The semi-private premiere and press conference is scheduled for May 2026 in Lagos, Nigeria . The event will be strictly by invitation for cast members, industry colleagues, and select guests. The official release date for the general public will be announced soon.

With its strong social commentary and high-calibre cast, Fury is expected to spark important conversations about postpartum struggles, family dynamics, and societal expectations placed on African women.
