The Management of Obodofei Integrated Services Limited has commended the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the foresight of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority for the issuance of the License to Establish (LTE) a 25MSPD Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) processing plant in Bayelsa State.

According to Obodofei, the approval represents far more than a regulatory milestone; it is a strong affirmation of the federal government’s deliberate and forward-thinking commitment to transforming Nigeria’s energy landscape through the expansion of gas-based infrastructure.

The project aligns directly with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu, particularly the administration’s aggressive push toward the adoption of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) as a sustainable, cost-effective, and environmentally responsible alternative to Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), the company said.

In the wake of fuel subsidy reforms and the attendant rise in petroleum prices, the President’s CNG initiative has emerged as a critical pillar for cushioning the economic impact on Nigerians.

By prioritizing gas utilization, the administration is not only addressing immediate energy cost concerns but also laying the foundation for long-term energy security, reduced carbon emissions, and industrial growth.

The Obodofei CNG processing plant is therefore a direct contributor to the national objective, serving as a practical implementation of policy into tangible infrastructure.

Strategically located in the resource-rich Niger Delta, this 25MSPD facility will be the first of its kind in the region, positioning Bayelsa State as a key hub in Nigeria’s emerging gas economy.

The plant is expected to play a pivotal role in deepening domestic gas utilization by ensuring the availability and accessibility of CNG for transportation, industrial, and commercial use.

It will also support the federal government’s broader Decade of Gas initiative by monetizing previously underutilized natural gas resources, thereby reducing gas flaring and promoting cleaner energy practices.

Beyond its alignment with national policy, the project is designed to deliver significant socio-economic benefits. It is projected to create direct and indirect employment opportunities, stimulate local content development, and enhance the economic profile of the Niger Delta region. The presence of such critical infrastructure will also attract ancillary industries, including logistics, conversion services, and maintenance operations, thereby fostering a robust value chain around the CNG ecosystem.

Furthermore, Obodofei Integrated Services Limited recognizes the immense investment potential embedded in this initiative.

The project is structured to be commercially viable and scalable, offering attractive returns to prospective investors.

In line with this, the company extended open invitation to strategic partners, institutional investors, and stakeholders who share the vision of driving Nigeria’s clean energy transition to participate in this landmark venture.

The management also expressed deep appreciation to the Bayelsa State Ministry of Trade and Investment for its unwavering support, enabling environment, and proactive engagement throughout the project development phase. Their commitment underscores the importance of state-level collaboration in achieving national energy goals.

Obodofei Integrated Services Limited reiterated its steadfast commitment to supporting the policy direction of the Federal Government under the leadership of President Tinubu.
