The Administrative Staff College of Nigeria (ASCON) is hosting over 400 Human Resource (HR) professionals at the 2026 Annual General Conference of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM), Lagos State Branch, as part of its collaborative drive to shape the future of workforce development in Nigeria.

The three-day conference, which begins March 25, at ASCON’s Topo-Badagry campus in Badagry, is bringing together HR leaders, policymakers and practitioners to deliberate on emerging workplace trends, public sector transformation and strategic people management.

Speaking at the opening session, ASCON’s Director-General, Funke Femi Adepoju, described the gathering as a milestone in strengthening institutional ties between ASCON and CIPM.

She said the conference aligns with ASCON’s vision of repositioning training institutions beyond traditional capacity building to delivering reforms that drive measurable impact across both public and private sectors.

Adepoju stressed that the college remains committed to supporting CIPM and other professional bodies through customised executive programmes, leadership development initiatives and applied research aimed at enhancing workforce capability.

According to her, “Strategic human capital development is critical to improving public service effectiveness, platforms such as the conference provide opportunities for stakeholders to share knowledge and co-create solutions for a more responsive and results-driven workforce.”

The event also highlights ASCON’s infrastructure, including modern lecture theatres, executive accommodation and a technology-driven learning environment, reinforcing its status as a leading management development institution in Nigeria.
