Mainland BlockParty Establishes Annual ‘Her Future Festival’ Spotlighting Women in Music

Mainland BlockParty has announced the launch of Her Future Festival, a new annual Women’s Month programme designed to spotlight women across music and nightlife. The inaugural edition will take place on Friday, 27 March at Secret Garden, Ikeja GRA, with Niniola, Fave and M.I.A set to headline the festival’s first outing.

Alongside the headline performers, Smur Lee, Fimí with the Flow, Wanni x Handi and Goodgirl LA will appear as supporting acts, bringing together some of the most exciting female voices currently shaping Nigerian music.

For the first time in the festival’s history, the stage will feature a fully female lineup, with women also leading across key vendor and production roles.

For the first time in the festival’s history, the stage will feature a fully female DJ lineup, with women also leading across key vendor and production roles. The approach integrates economic participation directly into the event experience and reflects a broader shift toward greater operational visibility for women in nightlife.

Known for creating defining moments on the nightlife scene, Mainland BlockParty has hosted some of the most influential artists and emerging voices within youth music culture, including Olamide, Davido, Tems and Asake.

The decision to introduce Her Future Festival formally recognises the role women already play across music, nightlife and creative enterprise.

“Women are already driving the rooms and building the businesses that define our nightlife,” said Rebecca Adeyanju, Head of Products at The Plug Global. “Her Future Festival aligns opportunity with that reality. It ensures women have the stage, the infrastructure and the access that matches the work they are already doing.”

The festival will now return every March as Mainland BlockParty’s dedicated Women’s Month event.

The inaugural edition is supported by brands including Pepsi, Guinness and Jameson, which will activate across the venue with branded installations and on-ground experiences.

Since its launch, Mainland BlockParty has grown into one of Africa’s most influential youth festival platforms, bringing music, community and nightlife together at scale. The brand has expanded beyond Lagos with editions held in New York, London, Accra and Abuja, reflecting its growing international reach.
