Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, was on Tuesday arraigned at the Federal High Court in Kaduna over alleged corruption-related offences by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).

El-Rufai was brought to the court premises by security operatives at about 9:00 a.m. in a Toyota Hilux vehicle.

He was held in the vehicle for about 25 minutes before being escorted into the courtroom about 10 minutes later.

He was dressed in a light green ‘Babanriga’ with a matching cap and appeared to be unperturbed.

Heavy security was also been deployed around court as well as  the busy Anguwan Sarki – Kawo Axis road.

Security operatives formed a protective cordon around him into the courtroom.

Journalists, who were at the court to cover the proceedings, were not barred from  entering the courtroom.

El-Rufai’s two wives and his son, Bello El-Rufai, a federal lawmaker representing Kaduna North, were also in court.
