CCDL Celebrates 11th Anniversary with Landmark Real Estate Convention
Capital City Development Limited (CCDL) has marked its 11th anniversary with a forward-looking real estate convention, bringing together industry leaders, investors and professionals to reflect on the company’s journey and chart a more intentional future for Nigeria’s property sector.
The event, held in Port Harcourt, was the CCDL Real Estate Convention 2026, themed “Spark: Igniting Your Real Estate Passion.” The convention comes at a time when investor confidence in Nigeria’s real estate market is gradually rebounding despite prevailing economic pressures and regulatory changes.
The anniversary celebration reinforced CCDL’s long-standing commitment to education, ethical development and investor empowerment. Over the past 11 years, the company has steadily expanded its footprint in the real estate space by prioritising structured developments that address real human needs, rather than focusing solely on land sales.
Speaking at the event, CCDL Chief Executive Officer, Uche Kalu, described the anniversary as both a celebration and a moment of industry-wide reflection. He challenged developers and investors to rethink real estate beyond brick-and-mortar construction, advocating for purpose-driven development.
“Real estate must solve problems,” Kalu said, highlighting functionality, affordability and long-term value as essential pillars of responsible development.
Drawing from years of professional experience, he noted that rapid urban expansion has often outpaced thoughtful community design, resulting in estates that lack sustainability and livability. According to him, success in today’s market demands disciplined planning, credible structures and strong leadership rather than shortcuts.
“Markets reward those who are prepared,” he added, noting that professionalism and clarity are becoming critical competitive advantages as investors grow more informed and intentional.
Kalu further explained that CCDL’s guiding philosophy has been a deliberate shift from selling buildings to creating livable communities. He stated that the convention was designed to keep stakeholders ahead of emerging trends while shaping conversations that will define the future of the sector.
Adding further depth to the anniversary event was a session led by renowned business strategist, Dr. Niyi Adesanya, who urged participants to confront limiting mindsets and embrace discipline, structure and purpose in wealth creation.
His presentation extended beyond property transactions, focusing on leadership, vision and consistency as the true drivers of long-term success in real estate. Adesanya also challenged industry operators to align architectural expertise with strategic thinking, describing the combination as essential for navigating Nigeria’s evolving property landscape.
Participants described the convention as timely and impactful, particularly as the industry adjusts to economic realities, increased regulatory scrutiny and a more discerning investor base.
As CCDL celebrates 11 years in the real estate sector, the anniversary convention stood as a clear statement of intent: that the future of property development in Nigeria must be driven by purpose, professionalism and a commitment to building communities—not just structures.
