A non-governmental organization, Osun Country Club, has called on well-meaning Nigerians and institutions to come to the aid of an orphanage home in Osun State.

The NGO donated food items and cash gifts worth millions of naira to the Our Lady of Fatimah Orphanage home in Osogbo, the state capital.

Speaking shortly after the presentation of the gifts to the management of the Our Lady of Fatimah Orphanage home, the President of Osun Country Club, Chief Abiola Falayajo, urged individuals and society at large to extend their hand of giving to the less privileged, saying that government cannot do it all alone.

Falaya said members of the club came to the orphanage home’s support to firm up the beautiful work the carer and the proprietors of the orphanage have been doing.

He disclosed they will ensure that organizations support all the orphanage home across the state.

According to him, “We came here to appreciate God and to appreciate those people that have been looking after the less privileged in our society.

“To the glory of God, we’ve been able to provide some support. We believe that this will be an ongoing thing, that is why we all decided to come here, to come and support the beautiful work the carer and the proprietors of this orphanage have been doing. This is an annual event for us, actually our maiden event at Osun Country Club.

“Every year we will be going to orphanage homes across Osun State not only in Osogbo, next one will another city or town. We believe that God will give us the grace opportunities to touch lives in Osun State. We will encourage the society at large to follow in our steps to support orphanage homes across the state.

“The government can actually still come in the area of infrastructure and possibly the subvention but we cannot leave everything for the government alone. That’s why our organization Osun Country Club is here today and encourages individuals and institutions to follow in our footsteps” he added.

Meanwhile, Hon. Sunday Akere commended the management of orphanage home for taking care of the wonderful kids.

However, speaking on behalf of the proprietor of the orphanage home, Reverend Sister Elizabeth Akinlotan, appreciated the Osun Country Club for their huge support for the wonderful kids.

Earlier, members of the Project Planning and Design Committee, a subcommittee of the Project Planning and Fundraising Committee, Osun Country Club, had visited their permanent site with 10 acres.
