Chinua Soludo, son of Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has paid hospital bills of patients in the state as a way to celebrate Christmas.
The young Soludo paid an unscheduled visit to three hospitals in Anambra State on Christmas Day, during which he cleared the hospital bills of many.
The visits were conducted around Adazi-Nnukwu, Nnobi and Ekwulobia, and created lasting memories of compassion, moving many beneficiaries, to tears, as well as the benefactor, Chinua Soludo himself.
He explained that “This is Christmas, and we need to extend friendship and good gestures to people who can not help themselves.”
At St. Joseph Hospital Adazi-Nnukwu in Anaocha LGA, Anambra State, Mr. Soludo not only cleared outstanding hospital bills for many, but he also gave some transport fares to facilitate their smooth return to their homes to join their families to celebrate Christmas.
In all, Soludo’s outreach at St. Joseph Hospital impacted more than five patients whose bills were cleared. In one instance, a patient who owed the hospital N933,500 and had been detained for a while was freed.
The patient was also assisted with transportation fare back to her home.
At the Nnobi General Hospital, a patient who had been treated for acute malaria was billed over N120,000. This bill was promptly cleared, and the patient went home.
Similarly, in Ekwulobia, Chinua extended his Christmas hospital outreach to Ekwulobia General Hospital, where 10 women were assisted with their bills and transportation fare.
