In commemoration of the International Students Day 2025, Mind Reformers Network (MRN) has concluded a multi-state peace education outreach across Kaduna, Lagos, and Cross River States, where the organization reached approximately 600 students through structured school engagements.

The initiative, implemented as part of MRN’s mandate to strengthen youth participation in peacebuilding, introduced students to themes such as tolerance, bias reduction, peaceful coexistence, and community resilience.

According to Victor Chimezie, Founder of MRN, each session featured interactive discussions and group activities designed to help young people understand the importance of peaceful behavior and how to apply these skills in their schools and communities.

“A key achievement of the project was the establishment of two new Student Peace Clubs in schools that previously had no peace structures, along with the strengthening of four existing clubs across the three states,” Chimezie stated.

Ismail Gwarzo, Programs Lead at MRN, explained that, “in schools where new clubs were established, MRN inaugurated student leadership teams to coordinate activities and serve as peer peace ambassadors. These clubs are now positioned to serve as hubs for continuous peace education, peer mediation, and student-led initiatives that promote non-violence and social cohesion.”

The intervention forms part of MRN’s broader effort to build community-level resilience by empowering young people with the knowledge, platforms, and support systems needed to contribute positively to peace.

The organisation announced that it will continue to provide technical guidance, capacity building, and periodic follow-up to the newly established and strengthened peace clubs to ensure long-term sustainability. MRN emphasised that investing in students is critical to shaping a generation capable of driving peaceful coexistence within their schools and wider communities.
