Dear Therapy 3.0 Reimagines Mental Wellness as an Everyday Family Tool

Dear Therapy, a leading initiative by KSH Foundation dedicated to making mental wellness accessible to families, has unveiled the theme for its third annual event: “Reimagining Therapy for Parents, Children & Us All.” Building on the successes of its previous editions, Dear Therapy 3.0 is shifting the narrative, positioning therapy not as a last resort, but as a proactive tool for family strengthening and community well-being.

The event, which is expected to attract hundreds of participants, will feature a mini-conference and offer complimentary virtual therapy sessions to at least 50 families. Founder, Khalil Halilu, explained the inspiration behind the new focus, stating, “Over the years, we’ve seen how parents and children often view therapy as something distant, something only needed when there’s a crisis. But at Dear Therapy, we are teaching therapy as a lifestyle of care, reflection, and connection.”

KSH and the KSH Foundation team emphasized that the goals for Dear Therapy 3.0 are both practical and aspirational. “Our goal is twofold: to shift and reorient,” they said. “We want to nurture a gentle shift in how families see therapy; from something reactive to something restorative.” This year’s event deliberately brings parents, children, and their wider support systems together, recognizing that “real growth happens when the whole circle is involved.”

A key component of the initiative remains the provision of free therapy to 50 families, which Augustina Okpechi, Communications Lead, views as a critical first step. “That number, 50, matters to us because it represents real families choosing to take the first step toward emotional well-being, sometimes for the first time ever,” she added. Participants are encouraged to embrace the concept that “therapy is not just about ‘fixing problems’, it’s a journey of communication that starts from within.” Dear Therapy 3.0 is set to reinforce the idea of emotional literacy and self-care as foundational elements of a healthy family
