The Christ Compassion to the Rural World (CCRW), an initiative of the Senior Pastor of Kingsway International Christian Centre (KICC), Matthew Ashimolowo, has announced its 2025 annual mega crusade to hold in Portharcourt, Rivers State, at Adokiye Amiesimaka.
CCRW, A One-Week Revolutionary Crusade and Community Outreach, is a non-denominational crusade and community outreach set to bring the gospel of Christ to rural communities in ways that are relevant, relatable, and practical.
During a Press Conference held in Lagos recently to unveil the ‘Portharcourt This is Love Crusade’, scheduled for November 24th to 29th, 5:00 pm daily, the CCRW team also revealed it medical outreach to distributes over 500 million naira worth of medicines, 1130 surgeries, 100 doctors, 100 pharmacists, 50 nurses, 80,000 patients to be treated, and 25,000 kids to be dewormed.
As done in Ikorodu-Lagos and Ibadan-Oyo states in previous editions, the CCRW will also be distributing relief to Port Harcourt residents – 150,000 bags of rice, 150,000 bags of beans, 150,000 bags of garri, 100,000 packs of rice, 20,000 bottles of oil, 170,000 packs of clothes, among other goodies.
Confirming preparations for the Mega crusade, Ashimolowo revealed the medical process is ongoing, the relief materials are already in the warehouse, and transportation has been taken care of- 154 buses to convey people from the rural areas to the venue.
“Even though it was looking terrible and like it wasn’t going to happen, I kept telling them this is where I heard from God. And the first time we went to Port-au-Prince, it was also something we could tell them, that we know that God sent us to Port-au-Prince for such a time as this, there will be peace in the land, and things are meant to work out.
“We’ve done what we can do as humans. We’ve been getting ready. All the materials, as you can see, are already in the storehouse. The Bible says not all men have faith. So during the night crusades, we believe in God for miracles, healings, and deliverances. But those who don’t start the miracle, they’ll get the medicine.
“So we are preparing medicines from the whole truckload. I’m talking about a 20- to 30-ton truckload of medicine to care for maybe up to 70,000 people in Rivers State. And also, we’ve already bought 25,000 dewormers for children.
“At the end of the six days Christ’s conversion to the rural world, our vision is, number one, out of these 1,130 people, I really am praying that we’ll be able to say 1,000 surgeries were done. We’re a Christian ministry. We desire to see souls saved. So we want 30,000 people to commit to Christ.
“We’re sending 154 buses to bring people. We’re even renting some of the Christian campgrounds not far from the stadium to help very poor and indigent people who will be brought from those rural areas so that they have a place to stay during the crusade, so they can collect everything we have for them, wait for their medicals, and then be transported back,” he said.
The Pastor commended the Governor of Rivers State, Similayi Fubara, for the welcome in the state and also his support for the mega crusade.
