2025 Global Award Spotlights Adedeji Agbelemoge’s Fintech Impact

By John Agbare

Fintech leader Adedeji Agbelemoge has been named a recipient of the 2025 Global Recognition Award in acknowledgment of his wide-reaching impact on banking, agriculture, and socially driven digital innovation. The award honors his role in creating scalable systems that have expanded access to financial services and improved operational outcomes in underserved markets.

Agbelemoge was commended by the award panel for developing impactful solutions that continue to perform well in regions with limited infrastructure support. His work stood out for its excellence in service, forward-thinking design, and measurable results across sectors.

Throughout his career, Agbelemoge has consistently demonstrated the ability to drive change where it is most needed. At United Bank for Africa, he led the rollout of a multilingual trade finance portal that simplified transactions for small businesses operating across Nigeria, Cameroon, Senegal, and Mozambique. This digital platform streamlined documentation processes and allowed SMEs to secure financing with less delay and greater accuracy.

During a period of national crisis, Agbelemoge co-developed Givefood.ng, an initiative that rapidly scaled to deliver more than one million meals per week. Its real-time tracking, coordinated logistics, and transparent donor interface made it a benchmark model for socially responsible tech-led operations. The program earned endorsements from major brands and attention from top media outlets, including BusinessDay and TechCabal.

“Innovation has to be useful,” said Agbelemoge. “If a solution doesn’t meet the needs of real people, then it’s just a distraction.”

His track record in fintech is equally strong. While at Titan Trust Bank, he played a strategic role in the development of Paystack-Titan, a fast-processing payment platform that significantly improved transaction speed for small businesses. At Wema Bank, Agbelemoge directed trade finance modernization initiatives and helped implement loan programs tailored for industries often excluded from traditional financial services.

Beyond financial institutions, his product strategy experience extends to the global tech workforce. As a technical screener with Andela, he vetted hundreds of candidates for international roles, ensuring only top-tier talent advanced. Currently, his work at Canadian National Railway focuses on safety and efficiency, applying AI tools and digital monitoring systems across North American transport infrastructure.

Receiving the Global Recognition Award reinforces Agbelemoge’s standing as a trusted expert in building systems that scale responsibly. His body of work reflects a long-term commitment to designing solutions that deliver lasting value across borders and industries.
