Alo urges govt to provide jobs, address hunger, insecurity

Renowned cleric and founder of Adamimogo FM Nigeria, Prophet Sam Olu Alo, has called on Nigerians to continue supporting the nation, especially in the face of current economic challenges.

His appeal comes amidst nationwide protests against hunger and poor governance, with citizens taking to the streets to voice their frustrations.

In a statement issued by his Personal Assistant, Deji Ogunbusuyi, Prophet Alo emphasized that while peaceful protests are a constitutional right and an important way to draw the government’s attention to critical issues, such demonstrations must be carried out lawfully and without violence.

He commended the resilience and patriotism of Nigerians who consistently participate in the democratic process, including those who have paid the ultimate price in the fight to sustain democracy.

“Democracy guarantees freedom of choice, justice, fair play, equity, and inclusion,” Prophet Alo said.

He urged political leaders to strengthen democratic institutions and address the nation’s pressing socio-economic challenges, such as poverty, unemployment, and food insecurity—factors he said are crucial to the well-being of citizens and the nation’s long-term stability.

The cleric extended his felicitations to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Ekiti State Governor Abiodun Oyebanji, and other Southwest governors on the occasion of Democracy Day. He also called on all public officeholders to prioritize the welfare of the people, stressing that their performance in office would determine their re-election prospects in 2027.

Prophet Alo further urged Nigerians to continue supporting the Tinubu administration, expressing optimism that the country can achieve greatness through collective effort and unity.

He paid tribute to the family of the late Chief Moshood Kashimawo Olawale Abiola (MKO), the winner of the annulled June 12, 1993, presidential election, and to all those who fought for Nigeria’s democracy.

The cleric also called on Christians, Muslims, and traditional worshippers alike to pray for a better Nigeria.

Concluding his message, Prophet Alo prayed for peace and prosperity in Nigeria, particularly in the Southwest region and his home state of Ekiti.
