Quramo Publishing Hosts Children to Essay Competition in Lagos
In celebration of the 2025 Children’s Day, Nigerian publishing firm, Quramo Publishing, has hosted students to an essay competition in Lagos.
The competition themed: ‘A Brave New World’ aims to give children the opportunity to air their voices, share their views and opinions on topical issues which affect them while empowering them to find their individual uniqueness in a fast moving world.
The event which serves as a precursor to the yearly QFest Festival of Words hosted by the firm, invited students to reimagine a world which promotes the rights and privileges of children and give them an enabling environment to thrive.
The essays, captured on paper and in performances, resonated clarity and conviction with four finalists emerging from the showcase. Princess Egwuatu and Bammeke Maria from Holy Child College, Ikoyi, claimed the top two positions, while Vernice Itamah and Hadassah Ezeh from Reeds School secured third and fourth place respectively.
By passing the mic and the pen to these young voices, Quramo reaffirmed its belief that children are not just the leaders of tomorrow, but storytellers of today highlighting how contributions of children can help in shaping the world of the future.
