Innovate Africa Foundation has announced the debut of World Product Day Lagos, which will be taking place on May 21, 2025 in the state.

According to the organiser, the event designed to elevate Africa’s next generation of builders will bring together product managers, designers, entrepreneurs, engineers, and ecosystem enablers to celebrate product innovation as a driving force for sustainable growth across the continent.

Hosted in Lagos, this inaugural edition is aimed at amplifying Africa’s boldest product thinkers and doers.

Tina Mbachu, the executive director at Innovate Africa Foundation said the World Product Day Lagos is more than a conference, “it’s a dynamic platform for problem-solvers building impactful, scalable products for African markets.

“The event will feature the grand finale of the Enterprise Innovation Hackathon, a high-energy contest spotlighting cutting-edge solutions to real-world business challenges.

“Attendees can also expect a curated job fair, offering direct access to high-growth startups and established tech firms hiring in product, UX, and engineering roles.”

According to Mbachu, “Africa is full of brilliant minds building quietly in corners-this event shines a light on them.

“World Product Day Lagos is about placing product excellence at the centre of our innovation conversation. We’re not just consuming global technology anymore, we’re building what the world needs.”

Alongside the hackathon and job fair, the day will also feature interactive workshops and thought leadership sessions, diving into customer discovery, product strategy, and design for scale.

Also, the Co-Executive Director, Kristine, added: “Our goal is to equip Africa’s builders with the tools and community to thrive. Whether you’re creating Fintech, agri-tech, or health products, this event connects you with insight, opportunity, and shared momentum.”

She added: “What sets World Product Day Lagos apart is its unique focus on product-led growth, an increasingly vital approach for tech companies looking to build sustainable impact. Unlike general tech expos, this event drills deep into user-centred design, agile methodology, and iterative development — all within the context of Africa’s economic, cultural, and infrastructural realities.

“Join the movement. Whether you’re a product enthusiast, an innovation-driven company, a job seeker looking to enter tech, or a policymaker shaping digital transformation, World Product Day Lagos offers a front-row seat to Africa’s future.
