ACPN Endorses Youth Malaria Awareness Campaign

The Association of Community Pharmacists of Nigeria (ACPN) has endorsed a youth focused Malaria awareness campaign sponsored by Geneith Pharmaceuticals Limited noting that it resonates with the need for collaborative effort in tackling the scourge of the disease in Nigeria.

This nod was given yesterday when the National Chairman APCN, Pharm. Ambrose Ezeh, paid a courtesy visit to Geneith Pharmaceuticals in Lagos.

As part of his submissions during the visit, Ezeh emphasized the need for improved public knowledge driven by strategic sensitisation to achieve reduction of the disease burden in Nigeria.

As such, he opined that a collaborative effort driven by young creative minds is the way to go. “The fight against malaria is a collective effort. It requires the involvement of all sectors—government, private organizations, and communities—to devise innovative solutions for real impact,” he said.

On his part, the Chief Executive Officer, Geneith Pharmaceuticals Limited, Mr. Umenwa Emmanuel, stated that the campaign themed ‘Geneith Health Competition’ is borne from a commitment to positively impact society.

He said: “We decided to fund this project as a way of supporting the fight against malaria. Eliminating this disease in Nigeria will become a realistic goal, especially since our target audience—youth and students—are the driving force behind any vision that needs to be realized.”

The Geneith Health Competition represents a beacon of hope in tackling Malaria in Nigeria forging a path for youth empowerment and health advocacy. As these leaders in the private and public sectors unite their voices for change, this shared vision aims to reduce the disease burden in Nigeria while empowering Nigerian youths to play active roles in health advocacy and inspire positive change.
