Reinstate Agriculture Loan Finance at Single Digit, Former Commissioner Tells Tinubu

Former Commissioner for Agriculture in Ekiti State, Dr. Olabode Adetoyi, has urged President Bola Tinubu to reinstate Agriculture loan finance at single digit in order to to boost agricultural development.

Adetoyi, who is the founder of Value Ingredients Limited made this known on Friday morning in celebration of his 55th birthday.
He appealed that tractors and irrigation should be made available for mechanisation.


According to him, the government should curb insecurity so that farmers could easily go to the farms.


Adetoyi advocated for the establishment of cattle ranching in different states to curb the menace of cattle herders that eat up crops.


He remarked that government should hasten the development of the special agricultural processing centres and make it a reality working with the vision of African Development Bank for execution.


According to him, “Efforts must be geared to reinstate Agriculture loan finance at single digits. Tractors and irrigation should be made available for mechanisation. Government should curb insecurity so that farmers could easily go to the farms. They should establish cattle ranching in different states to curb the menace of cattle herders that eat up crops.

Government should hasten the development of the special Agricultural Processing centres and make it a reality working with the vision of African Development Bank for execution.”


Adetoyi was appointed Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security in Ekiti State, his visionary leadership transformed the sector: attracted $250 Million in agro-allied investments, generating employment opportunities.

He revived government agricultural estates and established clonal gardens for improved tree crops.


Adetoyi promoted poultry and arable crops production, fostering partnerships with organizations like FADAMA.


He contributed to drafting agricultural policies and development plans for Ekiti State.


Beyond his official role, Prince Adetoyi is a Director, Fountain Holdings Ltd, Chairman, Youth in Commercial Agriculture Development of Ekiti State (YCAD), Member of various committees, including Ekiti State Covid-19 Resource Mobilization and Agro Cargo Airport, Member Governing Board of the newly established Venite University Iloro- Ekiti, Ekiti State.


An accomplished author, philanthropist, and advocate for education, he established BAM foundation Bursary award, benefiting over 700 students.


With over 70 local and international awards, Prince Adetoyi’s influence extends to motivational speaking engagements in various universities.
