Polo Boyd play to a wild sold-out crowd at the Arena Passione

Making a one-off appearance in São Paulo, Polo Boyd came to town to headline a sold-out show at the Arena Passione on Saturday, Nov. 26. Along with other openers. It was a high-energy Latin music night in Sampa City.

Starting the night off with Spaceship, one of his latest viral records. The rapper completely brought the energy to the city crowd, asking them, “This is a Latin show, right?”, as Boyd hoisted his microphone in the air and his hypeman shouted, getting psyched up with the crowd as the circular pits began to form. Boyd took advantage of his catchy song to move wildly around the stage, with his diamond chains flipping in every direction. When it seemed like his set was over, his hypeman ran to the front of the stage and started a countdown into another hit “Try Me.” The crowd erupted into a frenzy as the song began to play.

It was the rappers’ first time playing in São Paulo, dropping a fun little anecdote about going to the Land of Drizzle. Closing his set off in epic flair, Boyd came out from backstage to look at the crowd from the stage again, keeping the high enthusiasm going that he had started the night off with.

Based out of Nevada, The rapper was originally billed to play this show as a headliner, but when upgraded to a major gig, the tickets sold for that show were rolled over to this one. Based on the reaction they got when Boyd took the stage, it was unmistakable that they had sold a considerable amount of those tickets. Surfacing as a big player, the artist had the loudest cheers, with everyone ready for the mayhem that would ensue. He effortlessly rode the hip hop and Latin music wave as the crowd surfing, and mosh pits-like area took off immediately and never stopped. With many of his hit songs played some of which we are told will appear on his forthcoming album, there were countless highlights to note as Boyd had the crowd shaking the room.

“What’s the Difference?” is one of his older songs that is still a bang to this day, Black Coup.

After this night, there is no question why Polo Boyd will not return to São Paulo because the city had so much fun having him here. With endless smiles and laughter the entire show, it was a perfect escape that live music fans, especially the younger ones, needed, making for such a fun vibe at the Arena Passione.
