Buhari: Despite Govt’s Interventions to Address Gridlocks, Sea Ports Remain Problematic

President Muhammadu Buhari has observed that Nigeria’s sea ports still remain problematic as the effect of his government’s various interventions to reduce the gridlocks and inefficiencies in sea ports have been slower than expected,

The President said this in his national broadcast to mark Nigeria’s 61st independence anniversary on Friday.

Buhari however, said the implementation of the Electronic Call-Up System as well as the conversion of the Lillypond Container Terminal to a Vehicle Transit Area will further enhance the ease of cargo evacuation.

He also said his government remains concerned by the significant transportation infrastructure deficit in the country, adding that addressing the challenges commuters and lorry drivers face on the motorways remain a high priority.
