The Premiere of ‘Wives on Strike: The Revolution’

Nollywood actress, Omoni Oboli successfully played host to several celebrities and dignitaries recently at the IMAX cinemas, Lekki where she premiered her latest movie ‘Wives on Strike: The Revolution’.
The Revolution gathered stars from the entertainment industry that graced the event in style, class and glamour. Celebrities and dignitaries in attendance were Tonye Cole, Kene Mkparu, Rukky Sanda, Alexx Ekubo, Yomi Casual, Wafaifada, Charles Uwagbai, Anthony Monjaro, Yvonne Jegede Fawole, Abounce Fawole, Mary Lazarus, Seyi Law, Fred Amata. Hilda Dokubo, Ufuoma McDermott, Alibaba, Toyin Abraham, Williams Uchemba, Nikky Laoye, Uzor Ozimkpa and more.
Also in attendance was the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, who noted that 2017 has been a remarkable year for the entertainment industry and he is of the opinion that movies like ‘Wives on Strike: The Revolution’ in 2018 will yield more positive fruits.
Mohammed started off by thanking the cast and crew of the movie Wives on Strike: The Revolution on the great work done especially with the message passed. He believes that the movie is destined to make it big as well as bag several awards.
“First of all, I will like to thank the producer or this movie and everybody that has something to do with this movie in one way or another because it addresses some fundamental issue in a very funny manner. It spoke about domestic violence, child marriage, gender inequality, politics and more. The message is very clear and I think the movie is destined for many awards.â€
“Year 2017 has been really remarkable for the entertainment industry and I think 2018 will yield more positive fruits. 2017 witnessed the premiere of many first class movies,†he said.
Speaking with the writer, producer and director of the movie, Oboli expressed her heartfelt thanks to her family, cast, crew and everyone who came out to support her.
“I want to say a very big thank you to everyone who came out today to support me. I noticed no one left the all throughout and this I am grateful for. I was literally scared of how today would turn out but you all held it down for me and for this, I am deeply grateful. To my cast and crew, you guys are the very best. My family and my sons, thank you for understanding why mummy is always busy,†she said.
A sequel to ‘Wives on Strike’, the movie, “Wives on Strike: The Revolutionâ€, which is a family comedy follows up on the chronicles of the women’s fight against domestic violence, after one of them was beaten to death by her husband. This leads to yet another strike by the women against their husbands, forcing their hands to stand up for what is right.
The movie stars Omoni Oboli, Ufuoma McDermott, Uche Jombo, Kenneth Okonkwo, Julius Agwu, Chioma Akpotha, Toyin Abraham, Chigul, Saka, Odunlade Adekola, Sola Sobowale, Elvina Ibru, and others.
Omoni Oboli has consistently proven herself with back-to-back box office hit featuring movies like, “Being Mrs. Elliotâ€, “First Ladyâ€, “Okafor’s Lawâ€, and “Wives on Strikeâ€.
Her movies are known for all round successes, grossing in millions of naira. “Wives on Strike: The Revolution†is set to hit the cinemas come December 29th, 2017.
