The Chief Executive Officer of NUBI Educational Council, Mrs Rose Omonubi, has called on the government to implement efforts to attract people in the diaspora back home to develop the country after their studies abroad.

Omonubi made this call recently at the Study Abroad Fair in Lagos, which aimed to ensure that representatives of foreign schools abroad meet with parents and interphase with would-be students.

She stated that many Nigerians are doing extremely well in the US, Canada, and worldwide, adding that the government must create a conducive environment.

The CEO expressed concern that Nigerians do not do research, saying that if they do, they will have knowledge about what happens in different countries and can determine which is right for their careers.

” I always tell people to go and study, get the skills and come back home and develop your country,” Omonubi stated.

She also stressed the need for constant teacher training in Nigeria so that teachers can produce globally competitive students.

She stated that her organisation had been running since 2005 and has partnered with about 150 UK, US, and Canadian schools for boarding, prep schools, undergraduate and postgraduates.

She added that her organisation successfully placed several students in schools abroad in universities, pathways and worldwide.

She stated that the fair produced partnerships and relationships with local schools, which resulted in staff training in class management and other self-development programmes.
