Tinubu’s Visit’ll Prove Aiyedatiwa is People’s Choice, Says Campaign Group

Convener of Lucky Aiyedatiwa Campaign Organisation Foot Soldiers (LACO-FS), Dr. Oladipupo Okeyomi, has said the visit by President Bola Tinubu to Ondo State on Wednesday will further prove to naysayers that Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa is the choice of the masses.

He said this fact has resonated in the Presidency, which apparently propelled President Tinubu to come see things for himself.

The President will be received on arrival at the Akure Airport by Governor Aiyedatiwa, following which the duo will pay a courtesy visit to the Afenifere leader, nonagenarian Pa Reuben Fashoranti, and a condolence visit to the family of the late former Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, in Owo.

Okeyomi, popularly known as Carry Go, said the LACO-FS had rallied the masses of Ondo State to welcome the President on behalf of the governor, adding that hundreds of other pro-Aiyedatwa campaign groups had come under the umbrella of the LACO-FS, which is the mainstream campaign organisation, for same purpose.

“Tomorrow’s scenario will certainly shame a few idle tale-bearers and Internet ‘rats’, publishing fabricated lies that Aiyedatiwa was not in good terms with the late former Governor Akeredolu and that the governor is beating his wife, a woman who is not in Nigeria!

“Aiyedatiwa that I know is a complete gentleman who has high regards for the women folks and would not condone anyone abusing women in any way.

“As for those who are telling lies that Akeredolu was unhappy with Aiyedatiwa, where were they when Aiyedatiwa visited the Akeredolu family on a number of occasions and he was warmly received? Certainly, these are idle people,” he stressed.

Okeyemi expressed full confidence that Aiyedatiwa would win the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primaries with a landslide, come next April, noting that other party members in race with him are only trying to create awareness.

He, however, advised other contestants to emulate Aiyedatiwa by eschewing violence and focusing on their campaigns, even as he said that recent events showed that some aspirants were becoming lawless through brigandage and open assaults.

“Our governor will never campaign in these negative ways and as for aspirants doing such, the long arm of the law will soon catch up with them,” Okeyomi quipped.
