FG Partners with States to Harness Opportunities in Solid Mineral Resources

The Ministry of Solid Minerals Development has announced its intention to collaborate closely with state governors to tap into the potential of mineral resources for the nation’s socio-economic advancement.

The Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Mr. Dele Alake, affirmed this commitment during a courtesy visit by the Governor of Nasarawa State, Abdullahi Sule, to the ministry’s headquarters in Abuja yesterday.

Alake emphasised the ministry’s unwavering determination to leverage the abundant mineral resources across the country with a special focus on states like Nasarawa. 

He conveyed a sense of optimism that these efforts would translate into substantial and rapid development, ultimately improving the standard of living for citizens in line with the administration’s renewed hope agenda.

According to him, “Nasarawa State is very significant in terms of the development of the mineral sector and we are meticulously planning to ensure that Nigeria maximises the benefits from its abundant mineral wealth.

“We are poised to harness and utilise these resources efficiently, effectively and proficiently, making solid minerals the next economic powerhouse of Nigeria.”

Recognising the importance of Nasarawa State as a key player in the mineral sector’s development, Alake stressed the necessity of cooperation and coordination among all stakeholders involved in mineral exploration, exploitation, and responsible resource allocation.

The minister expressed his gratitude to Governor Sule for the visit, highlighting its symbolic importance as a representation of the vital synergy between the federal and state governments in advancing the critical solid mineral sector.

In his remark, Governor Sule expressed his delight in Alake’s appointment as the Minister of Solid Minerals Development, considering it a mutually beneficial opportunity for both Nasarawa State and the entire nation.
