The Congress of University Academics (CONUA) has urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to provide visionary leadership for the sustainable, progressive development of all facets of the nation.
The Union which sent congratulatory message to the president through its President,Dr. ‘Niyi Sunmonu, on Tinubu’s inauguration as the 16th president, commended him for providing the compass for the redirection of Nigeria at this historic moment.
He said “As a Union and aware of the Renewed Hope agenda of your administration, we acknowledge your decision ab initio to take the very tough actions required to engineer fundamental changes in the polity.”
According to him, “We equally appreciate your commitment to take the actions necessary to ameliorate the temporary painful effects of the inescapable tough decisions.
“CONUA believes in your capacity to provide visionary leadership for the sustainable, progressive development of all facets of the nation.
“We therefore assure you of our readiness to partner your administration by generating and making accessible ideas and suggestions that will take, in particular, our educational system from its current state to a pedestal that we shall all be proud of.
“Together, we will work to engender renewed hope in Nigeria and create the conditions for the fulfilment of the noble aspirations of the citizenry.”
