PDP National Chairmanship Aspirant, Utaan, Calls for Unity, Amid NEC’s Crucial Meeting

An aspirant for the national chairmanship of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr. Conrad Terhide Utaan, has called for unity among party members ahead of the critical National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting scheduled for February 2025.

In a letter to party members, Utaan expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support since declaring his candidacy.

“Your encouragement has fuelled my passion to serve, and I am committed to upholding the values and principles that define our great party,” he said.

Endorsing the recent resolutions from a key meeting in Plateau State, Utaan described the decision to hold the NEC meeting as “a step in the right direction”.

He emphasised the need for meaningful consultations with stakeholders to ensure the party emerges stronger and more united.

Commending the efforts of PDP leaders, Utaan acknowledged the contributions of the National Working Committee (NWC), led by Acting National Chairman, Ambassador Umar Damagum, as well as the PDP Governors’ Forum, Board of Trustees and other key organs of the party.

“Your leadership and selfless service are commendable,” he stated.

Utaan urged members to remain steadfast and patient during the ongoing leadership selection process.

“This is a critical time for the PDP, and only unity and collaboration can take us to our destination,” he noted, expressing optimism about the party’s future.

The aspirant highlighted the PDP’s legacy as a beacon of democracy and inclusivity, reiterating the need to harness youth energy while respecting the party’s elders.

“Together, let us renew our commitment to build a future filled with hope, justice and prosperity for all,” Utaan concluded.

The February NEC meeting is expected to shape the future of the PDP as it navigates its transformative journey.
