Bolt Hosts Successful Second Edition of Driver Football League, Fostering Unity and Inclusion in Lagos

Bolt, a leading ride-hailing platform, successfully hosted the second edition of its Bolt Driver’s Football League in Lagos, themed “Fostering Unity and Inclusion.” The event aimed to strengthen the bond between Bolt and its driver-partners, recognizing their essential role in the ride-hailing ecosystem.

The tournament, held in partnership with the Lagos State Ministry of Transportation, OneHealth by AXA, Oraimo, and Mycovergenius, featured knockout matches between four teams formed by Bolt driver-partners from across Lagos. The event also included a playground for drivers’ children and families, with games, activities, and entertainment.

The Director of Public Transport and Commuter Services (PTCS), Engr. Olusoji Adebayo, and Bolt’s Country Manager, Yahaya Mohammed, emphasized the importance of community building and driver empowerment. Weyinmi Aghadiuno, Acting Head of Regulatory & Policy Africa at Bolt, expressed enthusiasm about the event, which aimed to bring the driver community together in a spirit of unity and inclusion.

The event concluded with the presentation of medals, trophies, and cash prizes to the top three teams, totaling 1.3 million naira. The winning team received a cash prize of N500,000, plus an additional N200,000 from the Lagos State Ministry of Transportation. Exciting prizes were also won by female drivers and attendees during the raffle draw.

The Bolt Driver’s Football League demonstrated the platform’s commitment to driver well-being and empowerment, fostering a sense of community and unity among its driver-partners.
