You are on Six Months Probation, Gov Yusuf  Tells New Commissioners

Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has said the appointment of all his commissioners would be based on six months probation period after which a monitoring and evaluation team will assess their performance.

He said any commissioner who performs below expectation would be pulled out of his government, adding that those who perform well will be appreciated.

Addressing the commissioners at a maiden executive council meeting yesterday at Government House, he stated that their appointments were based on merit, professionalism, previous performances and competency.

According to the governor, “Let me urge you all to sustain the tempo of loyalty, dedication, commitment to duty and be honest in the discharge of your duties; be honest, accountable, and be mindful of the confidence reposed in us by the good people of the state.

 “I am reminding you that your appointment is on probation of six months period after which a monitoring and evaluation team under my headship will be monitored the performances of the ministries, and those who performed well will be appreciated and those who underperform will be pulled out. 

“The governor tasked the commissioners to work as one family for the people of Kano State believing that they are the best team to salvage the state from the mismanagement of the immediate-past administration and deliver the dividends of democracy to every nook and cranny of the state.”

The governor used the opportunity to thank the people of the state and assured them that as the journey begins, they will soon see positive changes that have a direct bearing on their lives.
