Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel, has promised to restore security and the economy of the country if elected the President of Nigeria in 2023.

Emmanuel, a presidential aspirant of  the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), said he joined the presidential race in order to rescue Nigeria from its security and economic challenges.

He made this promise at a session with delegates in Katsina State ahead of the presidential primaries.

If elected as president of the country in the forthcoming presidential election, Emmanuel explained that his administration would bring prosperity, security, economy, infrastructure and stable electricity in Nigeria.

He said the challenges besetting the federation as a result of the maladministration of the All Progressives Congress at both state and national levels would be tackled, if given the opportunity to lead the country.

He said his achievements in the industrial, aviation and security sectors as Akwa Ibom state governor demonstrates that he has the capacity to make Nigeria safe, peaceful, attract investments and to become economically viable.

He said: “We will rescue Nigeria. We will restore the economy, security and safety of lives and property here. We will restore everything that had been lost. Is not going to be a problem, we will do it and do it well.

“If you elect me as president of the country, there will be prosperity, security, economy, development, infrastructure and power in Nigeria. I will make your lives, businesses and goods safe.

“I want to assure you that PDP is on a rescue mission. All those things you used to enjoy before that you are not enjoying now when PDP comes back to power, you will enjoy them again,” Emmanuel said.
