The Governor of Borno State, Professor Babagana Zulum, yesterday flagged off the construction of capital eight major roads and two bridges worth N11.5 billion in Maiduguri.
A Chinese construction company, Eighteenth Engineering Company (EEC) and a Borno-based construction company, Obtuse Tech Engineering Company Limited, would deliver the roads in one year in respect of contract awards recently signed after biddings and other processes were completed.
Zulum performed the flag-off ceremony around the popular Post Office Roundabout on Ahmadu Bello Way in Maiduguri. It was attended by the Deputy Governor of Borno State, Mr. Umar Kadafur, the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Usman Shuwa, the State Chairman of the APC, Mr. Ali Dalori, and other top government officials.
