Gunmen Kidnap Three Plateau Polytechnic Students

Three students of the Plateau State Polytechnic were on Wednesday night abducted by suspected bandits.

THISDAY gathered that the gunmen reportedly scaled the fence of the school at about 8pm, fired gunshots into the air to scare other students before taking their victims away.

A student of the institution, who gave his name as Leonard, said the gummen stormed ‘Plateau Embassy’ hostel close to the perimeter fence of the institution and whisked away the girls after shooting sporadically into the air.

Meanwhile, the Plateau State Police Command, in a statement signed by its spokesman, Mr. Gabriel Ubah, said it was aware of the kidnap incident in Ban Village behind Plateau State Polytechnic Heipang on Wednesday at about 20:05hrs where three persons were abducted.

He said that immediately the report was received, a team of policemen of the command and OPSH raced to the scene where one suspect was arrested.

Ubah said efforts are ongoing to rescue the kidnapped victims and arrest other perpetrators of the act.
