Kukah to Deliver Lecture on Challenges of Nigeria’s Diversity

Bishop of the Sokoto Diocese, Bishop Hassan Kukah is billed to address issues of multiplicity of ethnic and regional interests currently threatening the country’s unity.

The outspoken Catholic Bishop has been selected to feature at a public lecture on December 11, in Abuja to be organised under the auspices of the prestigious House 40 Club, Nigeria whose main objective is to promote national unity and cohesion.

Kukah will be speaking on the topic, “Measures for Enhancing Social Cohesion in a Plural Society like Nigeria”.

Also another social analyst and former Chairman of the National Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), Dr. Sam Amadi will speak on: ” Socio-economic and Political Imperatives of the Implementation of the Fundamental and Directive Principles of State Policy in Nigeria”.

Speaking on the importance of the event, a chieftain of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) and the Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee for the conference, Chief Anyaegbunam Okoye said that it is part the Club’s contribution to the ongoing debate for the restructuring and reuniting Nigeria for better governance.

Okoye said that special awards will be conferred on prominent Nigerians among whom are: Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike; former Super Eagles coach, Mr. Christian Chukwu and Chief Nnia Nwodo.

Others awardees include; Anambra state Governors-elect, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, Tony Elumelu, Boboye Oyeyemi.
