Man Utd Charged to Sign Ndidi

Manchester Evening News sports pundit, Dominic Booth has told Manchester United to consider signing a defensive midfielder to bolster the squad ahead of next season and Super Eagles star Wilfred Ndidi has been identified as a potential target along with West Ham’s Declan Rice and Sassuolo’s Manuel Locatelli.

The Red Devils Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has prioritized the signings of a winger, central defender and right back in this window, with Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho, Real Madrid’s Raphael Varane and Atlético Madrid’s Kieran Trippier mentioned as targets.

Manchester United fans feel it would be wise for the club to sign a defensive midfielder to boost their chances of winning the Premier League title next season.

Solskjaer settled on Scott McTominay and Fred as his preferred double pivot last season, and Paul Pogba, who can operate in a variety of offensive and defensive midfield positions, continues to be linked with a departure from Old Trafford.

“Thrown in the possibility that Paul Pogba could finally call time on his United career this summer, with a year remaining on his contract, and the calls to sign someone like Declan Rice must be heeded,” Booth wrote.

“Nemanja Matic turns 33 this summer and can no longer be expected to perform the task.
“So signing a Rice, a Wilfred Ndidi of Leicester, or someone like Italy’s impressive Euro 2020 pivot Manuel Locatelli would make inordinate sense.”

Prior to Ndidi’s move to the Foxes in January 2017, former Manchester United coach Jose Mourinho sought approval to sign the Nigeria international but the powers that be dragged their feet in approving the request.
The Nath Boys product has a contract with The Foxes until June 2024 and is valued at 60 million euros by Transfermarket.
