FG Faults PDP over Recommendations on National Security

By Iyobosa Uwugiaren

The federal government has faulted the recommendations by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in resolving the growing insecurity in the country, saying the contents of its recent press conference have exposed the opposition party’s gimmickry, and accused it of merely playing politics with serious national issues, especially security.

The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, at a press conference in Abuja on Tuesday, also said that the federal government is working assiduously to ensure that the remaining abducted students of Greenfield University in Kaduna, whom bandits have threatened to kill if their demand for ransom was not met Tuesday, return to their respective homes safely.

The federal government’s spokesman also stated that the alarm raised by the Department of State Services (DSS) on the plot by some powerful forces to destabilise the government only confirmed the consistent position of the federal government that there were plots by some political forces to make the country ungovernable.
